  • Aaron Rodgers Wins MVP Award

NFL Awards -- Green Bay Packers' Aaron Rodgers wins MVP in landslide vote - ESPN

Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers has won the 2011 Associated Press NFL Most Valuable Player award in a landslide.

Rodgers earned 48 votes to two for New Orleans quarterback Drew Brees in balloting by a nationwide panel of 50 media members who regularly cover the NFL. The Packers star is the first Green Bay player honored since Brett Favre concluded a run of three straight seasons as MVP in 1997.

Good to see Rodgers win the award. Very deserving

Put Brees and Rodgers names in hat and choose one and you would not go wrong. However I would have thought Brees had the edge

Honestly it probably came down to the Packers being 15-1 with Rodgers having 14 wins. It also had to do with the head to head meeting which the Pack won. I'm a Packers fan but either could have won the award this year without much of a complaint either way. A split MVP would have been a great option. Brees has the new passing record mark and that will be more mentioned for several years than who won the MVP in 2011
