Free agent C Jamaal Jackson has retired from football.
Jackson was participating in the Giants' rookie minicamp on a tryout basis, but decided he no longer had the desire to play. "He just said, 'Coach, I just don't feel like my heart's in it,'" coach Tom Coughlin said Saturday. An undrafted free agent in 2003, Jackson took over as the Eagles' center midway through the 2005 season and stayed there until tearing his biceps in Week 1 in 2010. He was released in March, and didn't make any visits before working out with the Giants.
