Report: Raiders looking at RB Cedric Benson

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Raiders are showing interest in free agent RB Cedric Benson.
Darren McFadden is hardly a picture of durability, and the Raiders have no proven backup after losing Michael Bush. Benson could be Bush's short-yardage replacement while also lending the team a power option off the bench. Current backups Mike Goodson and Taiwan Jones are best utilized in the open space rather than between the tackles.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on NFL Live Friday that the Raiders remain interested in signing free agent Cedric Benson.
"Cedric Benson is still on the Raiders' radar," said Schefter, who suggested a deal would likely happen "down the line" -- perhaps just before or early in training camp. Per Schefter, the Raiders have visions of a bit of a thunder-and-lightning backfield with Benson's power complementing Darren McFadden's open-field shake and bake.
