  • Supplemental Draft scheduled for July 12th

The NFL's Supplemental Draft is scheduled for July 12th and former TCU RB Ed Wesley is one of the the players that is participating, according to Adam Caplan.
Caplan is also hearing "up to 10 players could be" in this year's Draft and the full list should be out sometime next week. Wesley left TCU for family reasons just one month ago and averaged 6.1 yards per carry while in college. The former Horned Frog is a legitimate late-round pick candidate. If he is not selected, Wesley will immediately become a free agent.

Baylor WR Josh Gordon will enter the 2012 Supplemental Draft, sources tell The Sideline View's Adam Caplan.
Gordon's off-field issues at Baylor resulted in an indefinite suspension following the 2010 season and a transfer to Utah. After sitting out the 2011 season, he'll now enter the NFL instead of actually suiting up for the Utes. Gordon did post 42 receptions for 714 yards and seven touchdowns during his last season in Waco, showing 4.4 speed with a 6'4/225 frame. Caplan believes he could go in the first half of the Supplemental Draft, tentatively scheduled for July 12.

A source with knowledge of multiple teams' thinking tells Profootballtalk.com that Supplemental Draft prospect WR Josh Gordon has generated a third-round grade from at least one NFC team.
The source added that high-ranking people at Baylor believed Gordon was a superior prospect to Titans first-round pick Kendall Wright during both receivers' time in Waco. Gordon managed just 43 receptions in college, but averaged 17 yards per catch in his lone full year at Baylor. Teams are "enamored" with his size and speed, and he looks destined for the early rounds of Thursday's draft.

Sounds like Gordon could go in the 2nd round, according to what Adam Schefter is saying.

Wish Cleveland would go after Gordon....but lord knows they won't. They love their group of scrub WR's.

Baylor WR Josh Gordon measured in at 6-foot-3, 224 pounds in his Tuesday Pro Day, and was unofficially timed at 4.52 seconds in the 40-yard dash.
The 40-time is a bit of a disappointment since Gordon was expected to run in the 4.4s, but still solid for someone with his frame. For comparison's sake, St. Louis' Brian Quick was timed at 4.55 at the Combine, as was the Giants' Rueben Randle.

A team source tells ESPN Cleveland's Tony Grossi the Browns "fully expect" supplemental pick Josh Gordon to contribute as a rookie.Per Grossi, a league source projected Gordon as a top-10 overall pick in 2013 had he stayed at Utah this season. It was "love at first sight" after Gordon visited the Browns last week, and the coaching staff reportedly views him as their No. 1 receiver "in time." Grossi also conveyed the laughable sentiment that the difference between Gordon and Julio Jones was "there's no history of drops with Gordon." It's fair to question the appraisal skills in Cleveland.

We would've just wasted that 2nd round pick on an OL that was projected as a 7th rounder anyways (see: 2011 draft), so I like it. They said he projected better than Wright at Baylor, and he went 20th overall. Good move for the Browns.
