Redskins OLB Brian Orakpo has re-torn his left pectoral, and is out for the season.
Coupled with LE Adam Carriker's season-ending quad injury, it's a massive blow for the Redskins' front seven, and comes as a major surprise after most early reports pegged Orakpo as week-to-week. It's the culmination of nine months of shaky rehab, as Orakpo never appeared to make it all the way back to 100 percent after originally tearing his pec in Week 17 last season. A defense that was 13th in the league in sacks last season is now going to have major issues establishing and maintaining a pass rush. The only silver lining is that Orakpo — who's notched at least nine sacks each of the past three years — should be 100 percent for next summer's camp. Rob Jackson and Chris Wilson are expected to split snaps in his absence.
