  • Johnathan Franklin Becomes UCLA's All-Time Leading Rusher

Congratulations to Johnathan Franklin on a big accomplishment!
PASADENA, Calif. -- UCLA Bruins running back Johnathan Franklin became the school's all-time leading rusher with a 37-yard touchdown run in the first quarter Saturday night against Arizona.

The run gave Franklin 3,758 yards for his career, breaking the record of 3,731 set by Gaston Green in 1987. The record-breaking run was his third carry of the game and gave UCLA a 7-0 lead with 12:27 to play in the first quarter.

UCLA coach Jim Mora called a timeout after the touchdown and before the extra-point attempt so fans could give Franklin a standing ovation and the school could play a congratulatory message from Green on the Rose Bowl video board. Franklin pointed to the sky in appreciation.
UCLA Bruins won 66-10 against the Arizona Wildcats. UCLA control their own destiny along with USC. Franklin finished with 162 yards and 2 TDs.
