  • Titans fire OC Palmer and promote Loggains

Titans fired offensive coordinator Chris Palmer and replaced him with QBs coach Dowell Loggains.
The 4-7 Titans are coming off a loss to the lowly Jaguars on Sunday where they scored just 19 points against one of the league's worst defenses. Tennessee entered Monday as the league's No. 24 offense, ranking No. 20 in passing and No. 19 in rushing. Loggains is in his fifth season on the Titans' staff and his third as QBs coach. Palmer lasted just over a season-and-a-half in Tennessee. He is known as a QB guru, but Jake Locker showed little development under his watch. Loggains, highly regarded by Titans insiders for his intelligence and rapport with players, drew interest from the Bears prior to the 2012 season. "Munchak loves him," a source told ESPN Chicago last January. "(He's a) great guy, very smart, up-and-coming guy."
