    Green Bay parts ways with Charles Woodson

    Packers released S Charles Woodson.
    Woodson broke the news via his wine company's Twitter account, and it was soon confirmed by his agent. "It's part of the business," Woodson's rep told NFL.com's Ian Rapoport. Going on 37, Woodson was due an untenable $9 million between salary and bonuses. The sides could consider re-upping on a cheaper deal, but Rapoport hints it's not being discussed at this time. Woodson was not playing at a high level before a broken collarbone cost him the final nine games of the regular season. He isn't believed to be considering retirement, however.
