  • 2013 UD auto cards scarce or what ?

Not seeing many on Ebay so far - are sellers just not buying cases to open ? the ones that are on Ebay all claim to be scarce and rare --- seems though base cards are a dime a dozen -- what is going on ? UD is killing the hobby IMO

I doesn't look like they're too scarce (to me).

I haven't purchased any of the 2013 UD, but in looking around the "bay", I can see quite a few being offered. Some at quite low prices, too.

I collect Calvin, Barry, 1 auto each of rookie Lions that make the team & HOF auto & GU.

I just came from my local hobby shop. I've started my 2013 football collection with "Leaf Draft" (I have two complete sets), Press Pass, and the 2013 Upper Deck. I have not purchased a hobby box yet, my wife and I did purchase several hobby packs. Here are some notable hits, Spencer Ware base auto #89, Chris Harper base auto #77, Andre Ellington "Premier Prospects", Charlie Ward 95SP-7, Rich Gannon 95SP-23, George Rodgers 95SP-40, "College Tribute" manufactured patch Florida State "Renegade", Dan Buckner letterman auto RL-DB 16/50. The rest of my collection revolves around card #1 to #50 that are representatives of HOF veterans, "Premier Prospects" nicely rounds out some of the cards that are inserts of this particulate set, "Star Rookies" from 51 and up make up the rest of the set. And Joe Namath, Barry Sanders, and RGIII completes everything with 10 cards per player, the latter being a retail exclusive Walmart hanger packs. I almost forgot that cards numbered to 100 and up are short prints. I've enjoyed this set so much that I'll possibly purchase a '95 Upper Deck complete set from the secondary market.
I am easy, I collect any and all NFL cards. Individual players I really enjoy are Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Matt Ryan, Andrew Luck, RGIII, and Russell Wilson. My passion is Favre rookie cards and vintage cards.

I forgot to mention, the 2013 Upper Deck cards are printed on some very nice card stock. This is my number one pet peeve! It's not as nice, card stock wise as the 2012 SP Authentic, also a Upper Deck product, but great as well. The feel and design are traditional in this respect that has made Upper Deck a collectors favorite for many years. It's almost a cult following considering the other two big sports cards corporation. Topps and Panini. The latter being a favorite of mine due to its enormously large and varied products. I love the throwbacks of this product, it makes new and or young collectors aware of the (In this case) '95 series!
