Ravens agreed to terms with LB Daryl Smith, formerly of the Jaguars, on a one-year contract.
It's a low-risk, high-upside signing for GM Ozzie Newsome as he looks to replace Ray Lewis and Dannell Ellerbe. A groin injury limited Smith to two games last season, but the Jaguars' all-time leading tackler was highly effective in 2011. He's undoubtedly on the downside of his career, but should go a long way toward fortifying the Ravens' inside linebacker corps as long as he's healthy. After being panned in the early days of free agency, the Ravens are arguably more talented now than they were in 2012.
