  • Woman arrested in Shaun Rogers jewelry theft

In late March, Giants defensive tackle Shaun Rogers claimed $440,000 worth of jewelry had been stolen from his Miami hotel room the month before. On Saturday, New York State Police said they had arrested a woman wanted in connection with a string of high-end jewelry thefts in Florida, and that Rogers was one of her alleged victims.

According to the Associated Press, authorities said Subhanna Beyah, 25, was wanted for multiple larcenies involving stolen jewelry and cash. She was arrested on fugitive-from-justice charges in Queens, N.Y., and arraigned Sunday morning on the fugitive warrant.

Rogers originally told police he went to a Miami club with some friends, returned to his hotel room with a woman, and when he woke up the next afternoon, both the woman and nearly a half-million dollars in jewelry were gone from the room's safe.

The items Rogers said were stolen included: diamond earrings worth $100,000; two wristwatches worth a combined $160,000; a gold necklace with gold pendant worth $50,000; gold bracelets worth $60,000; and a diamond Cuban necklace with a gold pendant worth $70,000.

It's not clear if any of Rogers' jewelry has been recovered.
