2013 NFLPA Rookie Premiere Auto Damage

I have noticed that on a lot of the 2013 NFLPA Rookie Premiere autographs that are numbers /90 have damage on the left edge of the back of the card. I first noticed this on my card and when I got it I immediately cased it. I decided to look up other cards and noticed that those cards had it too. Is this something that could majorly affect grading? Should this be reported to Topps? Here are some other cards I found.

It looks like you've deleted the photos off of your Photobucket, hence the thread has no pictures. As for your questions in regards to grading, depending on how bad the damage is to the card, this issue will seriously affect the grading. Any anomalies will bring the grade down.

You can report this to Topps if your so inclined to, I would not know how they would react to this issue nor if this will be corrected. That would have to be a decision for Topps executive committee.

With the pics, yes the grading would be effected, by how much I'm not truly sure. Will Topps replace them, highly unlikely in my opinion. The damage to the cards aren't that significant that Topps could take blame for it really, so I don't see them replacing the cards

My best guess is that these cards got damaged by the players who signed them and if that's the case, that's pretty cool. But we will never know. Thanks for letting me know sportscardrage!

Looks like pretty standard box / pack damage. A lot of cards I pull have markings like that, particularly dark bordered Topps cards and lower end Panini stuff. I doubt that Topps would replace them, since they could say that the damage must have happened in shipping somehow.

Well that's sad to here... It would have been pretty cool if it were from the players but having it be from just being in the pack, that's really sucks. Thanks!

No problem, that's what we are all here for. To help each other out and to support fellow forum members in anyway possible.

Just a quick observation, I agree with the previous comments of forum members that has replied to this thread in regards to your damaged card. It is damage due to the manufacturing process and was in no way intentional nor was it avoidable. If you take a loop and go over a new card you've just pulled, you will clearly see several imperfections. Some are visually noticeable with the naked eye, and others need a loop or magnifying glass. I think anything with a power of 10 is sufficient. The main thing is to just enjoy your collection in anyway or form. Take care, drive safe, and enjoy your day!
