  • Ndamukong Suh suspended for Wild Card round

NFL suspended Ndamukong Suh one game for violating the league's policy on player safety.
Suh is appealing the decision. Unlike teammate Dominic Raiola, we'd guess there's actually a chance Suh gets his ban overturned considering the relatively mild nature of his offense and the fact that he's being suspended for a playoff game. But it's also quite possible the league is simply through with Suh's antics, and won't entertain a reversal. Either way, it's comeuppance for a consistently-dirty player. The ban severely dents Detroit's chances of springing an upset on the road against the Cowboys.

Ndamukong Suh of Detroit Lions wins appeal, will play in playoff game vs. Dallas Cowboys - ESPN

Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh had his one-game suspension overturned by appeals officer Ted Cottrell on Tuesday, a day after the NFL suspended Suh for Sunday's playoff game between the Lions and Dallas Cowboys.

Instead, Cottrell ruled Suh will have to pay a $70,000 fine.

Suh was suspended by the league for stepping on the calf and ankle of Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers during the Packers' 30-20 win over the Lions on Sunday.

It was a joke of a suspension. If he back-stepped on a non-quarterback, this wouldn't be an issue.
