Colts signed WR Duron Carter.
The deal was agreed to last week, but was made official on Monday. Carter (6-foot-4, 205) is being talked about like a potential future star, but we really need to scale back expectations. It's extremely unusual for top-flight prospects to spend two years in Canada, even if they have off-field issues like Carter. (Carter isn't a top-flight prospect.) But the landing spot couldn't be better in an Andrew Luck-quarterbacked offense. Carter isn't a lid-lifter who will take the top off a defense; he's a long strider who wins with strong hands and good size. He'll compete for a job this summer with long-term starter potential at the Z spot.
