"Multiple team sources" tell the Charlotte Observer the Panthers will not bring back suspended free agent DE Greg Hardy.
Hardy will go to trial Monday to face misdemeanor domestic violence charges. If found guilty, he'll be slapped with a league-imposed six-game ban. Regardless of the outcome, the Panthers have washed their hands of Hardy and will not re-sign him. People around the NFL still expect interest to be high in Hardy once his situation clarifies and he hits the market.

The state has dismissed both domestic abuse charges against free agent DE Greg Hardy.
Hardy was convicted by a judge last summer of assaulting and threatening to kill his former girlfriend. He appealed the ruling and was scheduled to begin a jury trial Monday. But the state could not locate accuser Nicole Holder since November despite "extraordinary" efforts to find her, efforts that included surveillance. Hardy could still face punishment from the NFL even though he spent 15 games (plus the playoffs) on the commissioner's exempt list, but getting the charges dismissed takes some of the stink off. Hardy is our No. 4 edge defender available in free agency, behind only Justin Houston, Jerry Hughes and Jason Pierre-Paul. Avoiding criminal conviction will help get the 26-year-old paid in a big way even though the Panthers are not expected to be among the bidders.

The Dallas Cowboys have signed Greg Hardy to a one-year, $11.3 million deal that could be worth up to just over $13 million, a source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

Although Hardy could face a league suspension for violating the NFL's domestic conduct policy, the team said it agreed to terms with the former Carolina Panthers defensive end on Wednesday.
