During online game play, you rank up. Eventually you go through all the ranks, then you are giving a chance to prestige and start over.

I just did it 15 times, took me about 24 hours of game play per prestige.

Sadly yes..they blamed turf getting into the eyes of one of the ChiSox outfielders and said because of that its the only reason why he missed catching a ball..
