Anyone read an article last week on Joe Mauer? It was on ESPN, interesting read, he was pretty clear that he ONLY wanted to catch, almost refused to accept that he'll have to play 1st base sooner than later..thats a $184 million problem

I did not but remember that from the signing and guys commenting on it.. A bad signing that somehow will be the Yankees fault in the Twins fans eyes lol

I should've posted it..He basically said he wants to be a catcher throughout the entire 8 year contract he signed..Personally, I can't see him catching on a regular bases anymore at all, hip problems don't end well witch catchers..

Its bad enough (for the Twins and their fans) that Mauer's power seems to be a one year wonder type of thing, but paying about $25 million for what will end up a DH/1st baseman is just not a great signing..of course thats looking back on it..but still, lots of money, and if you move Mauer to 1st, your basically telling Morneau to DH or leave.

it's from about 1992... the ball has William Tate as the President of the NL so I know that was between 1989 and 1994

Looks like the Twins helped out Brad Penny today..they allowed him to be awful and not hurt the team..Hopefully Penny is good, gotta imagine there is gonna be a short leash on him now..Andy Oliver & Charlie Furbush are in Toledo ready to go if Penny can't pull it together..I'd personally rather have Oliver if someone is getting called up, he's a lefty which is a plus and has solid stuff..I'd prefer if Penny just pitches good though..

Furbush had a 1 hitter in Toledo this past week though
