Not that anyone cares, but what an sad excuse for a Baseball player

The 'easy' out is the out closest to you. Hence why you'll always see a 3B go to 2B for a forceout over throwing across the entire field to 1B.

He said he got the call wrong, and he didn't.

And no, when there is nobody at 2nd base to cover the play, its not the easy play. Tag the runner who is coming right in front of you, tag 3rd base, or throw it to Cabrera, and don't say "throwing to 2nd was the only chance I had to get an out"

Leyland disagreed with the decision, also. (Not that it means that much)

Gladdy, it looks like we're going to agree to disagree on this. The ex-MLB players (Reynolds & Ripken) explained it to Mitch Williams and even got him to change his opinion(he was originally like you). They explained that it was the 2nd baseman's duty to notify the 3rd baseman prior to the pitch if he wasn't going to be covering 2nd or for the 3rd baseman to go directly to 1st. In this case the 2nd baseman DID NOT do that, and Inge (out of habit, shortest throw for an out) naturally went to 2nd. If the 2nd baseman had done his job correctly, as Harold Reynolds & Billy Ripken described, the runner coming into 2nd would have definitely been out.

              Have a good day, Rodney
