Just to let y'all know, there probably won't be as many comments here from east coast members due to hurricane Irene today and tomorrow. Here in southern Virginia we are now getting some wind, rain, power outages, flooding, broken branches, etc. I'll be getting off shortly. I'll try to get back asap (could be hours or days), depends on what happens.

Note - those O's sure took care of those Yankees last night - 6 consecutive extra base hits in the 2nd, never saw a team do that before.

Something VERY unusual is taking place with the Tigers right now - VERLANDER has blown a four run lead. They just said it was ONLY the sixth time in 29 starts that he had given up four or more runs. For him, this is a very hard game.

JesRey - I understand your support for the "home" guy Kershaw. However, without a doubt, when you look at ALL of the starting pitcher stats in MLB Verlander is definitely the BEST (up to now). Kershaw is lucky though, he's not in the AL. If he was in the A L he'd have no shot at a CY YOUNG AWARD, both Verlander and Weaver would be ahead of him. Hope Kershaw continues to have a great season and a shot at the N L CY YOUNG AWARD. Have a good day.
