My brother Daryl was in town this weekend and drove back to Austin Sunday/Monday.... this is a picture from Bastrop (about 20-25 miles out side of Austin).. wow.... just amazing.... and terrifying at the same time



!!! UN-FREAKING-REAL !!!


I hope nothing for the best, but there is no rain in sight and this is just the begining I am afraid.... sad sad sad situation out there

Great pictures of a very very very bad situation. Hope they get those fires under control soon. We've had a major fire in the Dismal Swamp for over a month, the rain from hurricane Irene cut it down but didn't totally put it out. Almost every morning when you go outside it smells smoky. But, in my area, it is no where near as bad as those look like (where I live there aren't any smoke clouds like that).
