To Grade or Not ?

A question that's been bugging me for awhile. Started collecting at a young age and most of my PC are older cards ... However, nowadays especially on Ebay even modern cards are being "Graded" for selling. Do people Grade cards to keep also ?

When considering selling cards, is "Grading" them a MUST ???
