  • Conan O'Brien Leaving NBC's The Tonight Show

Conan O'Brien is leaving NBC and he is getting $30 million as part of his settlement. Most assume he final day on The Tonight Show will be next Friday January 22nd. This story came about when NBC wanted to move The Tonight Show to 12:05 instead of the normal 11:35 timeslot.

Fox is rumored to be interested in O'Brien to launch a new late night show on their network. It is not known yet if O'Brien has to wait before he can start with a new network. With the Jay Leno show being cancelled, it is rumored that Jay Leno may return to host The Tonight Show.

Good for Coco... He deserves that $30 million. NBC asked him to move to Los Angeles and now want to switch things up on him is unfair.

NBC has reached a $45 million deal with Conan O'Brien for his exit from The Tonight Show. Conan will receive $33 million and the rest will go to his 200 staff members in severance packages out of his own pocket. It says a lot about Conan to give up $12 million of his settlement to take care of his workers. Im sure they will all follow him to whatever new show he does.

His final show will be this Friday. Jay Leno will return as host of the Tonight Show on March 1st.

Conan will be free to start with a new network in September. It is rumored than Fox is interested in starting a late night talk show.

Its also said that he signed a "Non Disparadgement" clause. Meaning he can't bad mouth NBC in the future.

one day a week is a little much though. maybe like a 2 minute spot on letterman every month?
