The Avengers: Age of Ultron Trailer - Rewind Theater - IGN

Marvel fans have been waiting months for the first trailer for Avengers: Age of Ultron to surface. That finally happened when Marvel released the first trailer a week ahead of its originally planned debut after an episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. This trailer offers an intriguing first look at James Spader's Ultron and a very troubled team of Avengers. But it also contains clues that even more Marvel characters will be appearing than have been announced.

0:07 -- Is this landscape shot showing South Africa? Will the South African scenes be a gateway to introducing Wakanda?

0:16 -- Quicksilver & Scarlet Witch are among the crowd of protesters, but what are they protesting? Is this a flashback to before the two gained their powers?

0:19 -- This armor is coated in what may be liquid vibranium. Is this Iron Man or Ultron's armor?

0:28 -- The Avengers are clearly battle-worn and upset after some loss. Their body language suggests the team is philosophically divided.

0:36 -- This damaged Ultron has an Avengers logo on its body - the first time that logo has actually shown up within the movie universe.

0:38 -- This wide shot includes the entire Avengers roster plus Jim Rhodes and a couple characters who aren't easy to identify.

0:40 -- Ultron crushes another drone that appears to be modeled after Captain America. It may be that Tony has an entire team of drones designed to fill in for the flesh-and-blood Avengers, at least until it all goes bad.

0:43 -- The trailer launches into a slow, mournful rendition of "I've Got No Strings" from Disney's animated Pinocchio film. An unexpected benefit of Marvel being purchased by Disney.

0:48 -- This fortress appears to be located in Italy. It may be the complex where Baron Strucker is experimenting on his "Miracles."

0:56 -- Banner is apparently due for another unwanted Hulk-out moment.

1:02 -- This shot shows a more advanced version of Ultron working with Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch. Apparently they'll be aligned with the villain before joining the Avengers.

1:05 -- As in the comics, Ultron has an entire army of drones at his command.

1:18 -- This scene of destruction takes place in Russia. It may be the result of Scarlet Witch's uncontrollable powers.

1:23 -- The Hulkbuster armor debuts in this scene. It appears to be a secondary suit that forms around Iron Man's standard armor.

1:31 -- This shot appears to be a flashback to Cap's WWII days.

1:33 -- This shot offers the first glimpse of Andy Serkis' mystery character. The distinctive facial hair points to Ulysses Klaw, which in turn reinforces the idea that Black Panther and Wakanda will appear in some form.

1:35 -- Black Widow and Hulk share a tender moment here, which is a far cry from their relationship in the first Avengers movie.

1:36 -- That may be Baron Strucker in the background playing the piano. Is one of the ballerinas a young Black Widow?

    1:44 -- Awesome.

1:53 -- Cap's shield is broken into shards. Vibranium may be tough, but it's not indestructible.

1:56 -- Ultron's face looks much different than the comic version. It seems they wanted to give the villain more expression and capitalize on James Spader's motion capture work.
