eBay / PayPal Question

Can anyone answer this?

If you sell an item on eBay and they hit you with the eBay fees, and the buyer uses PayPal, do you have to pay PayPal fees too?

I thought I read somewhere, or it was on the news, that eBay and PayPal are owned by the same company.

Wouldn't that be like getting a double tax?

You get hit twice.

Paypal fees are are about 30 cents per transaction + 3%. You do get double dinged.

The only way to avoid the fees is to have someone send you the money as a gift. Some people do it, others don't.

Yep, you get dinged twice...just like you do with sales tax at a store. No different. In PA it ends up at 6%, but that's actually three different taxes. Paypal/eBay use the same method-can't say I blame them.
