  • eBay holds the money?

I sold my buddy's 2010 Danica Red Ink Autograph #07/25.

The buyer tried his best to talk me down to $395.....then $450....then finally did the buy it now at $500.00

It took him almost 24 hours AFTER using the BIN to actually pay for the card.

Now the fact that he did not pay for it immediately I can overlook, but what gets me is .......

PayPal is HOLDING the money until he verifies that he receives the card.

My buddy is sending it out priority, insured, and signature required.

But...the question is....when did PayPal begin holding monies?

Paypal has been doing this for a while now. Paypal will hold the money for 21 days or until he leaves positive feedback. Smart move getting a signature required to protect yourself in case he decides to try and say he never received the card.

Its based on selling past, so if theres no record of selling they do that..

Okay. That makes sense. We've only sold a few items (way less than 10).

I havent sold on EBAY in a while, but I would think that for a high dollar item it does make sense.

I'm surprised to hear that, I don't sell too often, maybe sold about 30 items in the past 3 years, bought maybe 50 items in that time span, but I just sold a 2009 exquisite mark sanchez auto/patch for $600 and the money was available immediately
Not looking for anything specific, just whatever catches my eye, but I am partial to Chicago Cubs, David Wright, Jim Palmer, Miguel Cabrera, and Yao Ming
