Does anyone really collect base sets anymore?

Or is everyone just hunting the GU/autos/inserts etc? And the base cards just get tossed or given away?

i collect base cards still.any card that has a player i like on it,then i want it.doesn't have to be a 1/1 gu patch auto.hobby has gotten a little unfocused.making people forget why they started collecting when we were all kids.

yeah i did that up till 97 or so.gard now with all the sp's.mostly a team collector now

I don't collect base sets, but i dont collect any sets in general, however i do keep and like base cards

I give them away..
there is a bulk buyer at the Expo that buys your base cards. $.015 for base cards 05-present. so 100 = $1.50
I brought a few boxes in the last time and just got some supplys from him
I'm probably going to do the same this Spring Expo
