The main event of UFC 129 saw Georges St. Pierre beat Jake Shields to retain the UFC Welterweight Championship. Randy Couture retired after his knockout loss to Lyoto Machida. Randy will be missed as he was one of the best UFC fighters ever. He was going to retire after this match regardless if he won or loss. The other main match saw Jose Also make his UFC debut and retain the UFC Featherweight Championship against Mark Hominick.

Machida smashed Couture in the head with a nice kick, pretty impressive. Matyushenko ended the match pretty quickly, he got Brillz on the ground, pulled out the hammer elbow, and went to work. Aldo vs. Hominick was the craziest fight though. Hominick fought most of the match with a hematoma, almost pulled out the victory in the final round too.
