Carl Edwards was nursing a cold so he figured the only thing that could make him feel better was to win Saturday night's NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Nashville Superspeedway.
Edwards had the dominant car and continued his dominance on concrete tracks as he won his eighth race on concrete with the victory.
"I feel a lot better. This car is unreal. It is super fast. We had a great car,'' Edwards. "I felt bad that the 22 team had trouble with Brad (Keselowski) because we were going to have an awesome race. It's a fun race track.''
With Edwards winning it turned out to be a banner night for Roush Fenway Racing as his teammate, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., took runner-up honors and Trevor Bayne ran ninth.
Austin Dillon, coming off a NASCAR Camping World Truck Series win the night before here, finished a Nationwide career-best third and led four laps.
Dillon was followed by Justin Allgaier, who finished fourth.
"We just had some issues and I felt like we passed every car on the race track at some point,'' Allgaier said. "It was a good night. We had a good car and we just needed some track postion.''
Aric Almirola scored his fifth consecutive top-5 finish in a row in a race that saw only three cautions.
Despite a rough night -- bad battery -- Reed Sorenson salvaged a top-10 finish and walked away leading the points by five over Stenhouse.
