After Wrestlemania 17 when Stone Cold Steve Austin turned heel, WWE briefly gave him a face return before he turned heel again and joined the Alliance. This video shows when the old Stone Cold returned at the request of Vince McMahon. This was an awesome segment that I remember watching 10 years ago. Even though the Alliance angle was a completely failure because the bigger WCW stars (Hogan, Hall, Nash, Flair, Goldberg, Steiner, Mysterio) werent involved, the Invasion PPV was one of my favorite PPVs of all time because of the way it was booked leading up to that first PPV. After the Invasion PPV when Stone Cold joined the Alliance, it made no sense and got pointless.

The crowds use to be amazing. The pop Austin got when he came out was insane.
