  • 2012 Royal Rumble Results - Punk & Bryan Retain Titles, Sheamus Wins Rumble

By reading the results online, it looks like this year's Rumble really disappointed. Here are the quick results. There were 2 matches on the card that were not announced. I hate it when they do that. The original ECW did that a lot in the late 90s.

Beth Phoenix, Natalya, & The Bella Twins Defeated Kelly Kelly, Eve, Alicia Fox, & Tamina
    Brodus Clay Defeated Drew McIntyre
Daniel Bryan Defeated Mark Henry & Big Show To Retain World Heavyweight Title
CM Punk Defeated Dolph Ziggler To Retain WWE Title
John Cena Fought Kane To A Double Countout
Sheamus Won The 2012 Royal Rumble

I guess what can be seen as the surprise entrants in the Rumble included Ricardo Rodriguez (really?), Jerry Lawler (ugh), The Great Khali (why?), Booker T (ok), Dolph Ziggler (he just had a title match!), Jim Duggan (already known), Michael Cole (what a waste), Kharma (seems like the only real surprise), & Road Dogg (oh you didnt know?).

Nothing like last year with Diesel and Booker T making their return. I thought out of all the injured wrestlers (Mysterio, Christian, Del Rio, & Taker), at least one of them would have returned. Kharma ended up returning which make it the biggest surprise entry this year. At least it was cool that Mick Foley was in there and was announced way ahead of time.

Zack Ryder got killed again and I guess Eve is going to blame Cena tomorrow again for it. Kofi had the most memorable moment by handstanding his way back into the ring for the Rumble match. I cant believe Sheamus won. It will be him and Daniel Bryan at Mania. I cant see him challenging CM Punk.

I remember when the ppv was 24.95 then 29.95 then 34.95. I stopped then because to me it wasn't worth that much. At least not on tv, maybe in person though.

Yep I remember way back in 1995 when the In Your House PPVs were $14.95. Those were the days. Once it surpassed $29.95 for the PPVs, I stopped ordering them monthly.
