UFC 148 Results - Silva Beats Sonnen, Griffin Beats Tito

The main event of UFC 148 saw Anderson Silva beat Chael Sonnen to retain the UFC Middleweight Championship. The co-main event saw Forrest Griffin defeat Tito Ortiz in his retirement bout. Silva held onto Sonnen's shorts and also kneed him in the face when he was on the ground. The referee should have deducted a point for the illegal knee to the head of a fallen opponent. Also Forrest Griffin left the cage before the winner was announced. It looked like he was mad that he possibly lost the fight. This card could have been a better if the original card stayed. Rich Franklin was supposed to have fought Cung Le, but Franklin was moved from the card to headline last month's card. Also the original co-main event had Dominick Cruz fighting Urijah Faber before he got hurt. Then it was supposed to the Urijah Faber against Renan Barao, but that got moved to the main event of next month's card. With the exception of 3 bouts which all ended quickly by TKO, this card had 8 bouts go to a unanimous decision.
