DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP)—Hendrick Motorsports teammates Mark Martin and Dale Earnhardt Jr. have secured the front row for next week’s Daytona 500.

Martin, the only driver to top 191 mph during qualifying Saturday, earned the first pole of his career for NASCAR’s season-opening race. Earnhardt will start second, trying to rebound from the worst season in his Sprint Cup career.

The front-row sweep continues Hendrick’s domination in the sport. Not only has Jimmie Johnson won the last four Cup championships, but teammates Martin and Jeff Gordon gave Hendrick a 1-2-3 finish in the 2009 points standings.

The top 35 drivers from last season are guaranteed starting spots in next Sunday’s race, but their positions will be set in Thursday’s 150-mile qualifying races.

Good for Martin, hopefully he wins it, or the championship, he keeps racing just to win one championship i think...

      Also, Hi Danica!

Speaking of Danica.....she had a damn good stock-car debut, all things considered.

You could tell at the beginning of the race she wasn't comfortable in a stock-car going anywhere....got dumped halfway through the race, make a HELL of a save, got the car fixed up, and shot through the field during the last 15 laps to finish 6th, including a Dale Jr.-esque Daytona move splitting two cars coming off of Turn 4.

The hype's only gonna get bigger after that comeback she made.

She's got game, and once she gets use to these big cars, she should do just fine this year, and she's not to bad to look at either, so she's gonna have one heck of a following. LOL!!
