  • opinion on ideas on future products.

OK so I didn't know what thread to put this under but anyways.
I had a great idea for future sports cards designs. First a question though.
What is the life of a Jersey for a company like Panini? After a game, goes
into a storage unit then cut up for the product release?

I was thinking. Currently, when a product is release they will produce
base sets and subsets with jerseys etc. Right? For example. Panini elite hockey.
You have the base set. Then the elite and new breed and autos etc. You get
the Jersey card for your player right? How many do you get? 1 or 2?
See it yet? My point is the only incentive of buying multiple jerseys cards
for a release is to find one where the Jersey is cut and multiple colors
or pinstripes or patches etc. Maybe card #1 for the elite jerseys then could come
in a couple variations. What do we collectors and resellers hate. Plain swatches
that are simply not eye catching.

So. As the industry changed in the early 2000's with jerseys in the first place,
this is a good time for the next new phase.

Panini needs to keep better track of its jerseys and sticks and other gear,
assuming they take the stuff after games, and print the date the gear came from
    om the card.

Interestingly enough, every jersey card, whether or not it is plain swatch or multiple color patch,
will have a real centimental (is that spelled right?) value to it such as
a fan being at that game.

That would make a lot of jersey cards more marketable in the long run.
Sorry it took so much to get that down. What do you think?
