Can you please show me here or please pm me if you want who/when and where have we ever suspended/banned anyone here just for stating their concerns?

If that has happened here I personally would like to know so that I can look into it and fix it if it is true because I would not accept that and neither would anyone else on staff here.

      Plmk
      Thanks

Maybe I did not fully state it correctly but what I meant by the second half of your highlighted part of my post is I see some of the same things happening that the OP states....not that I have seen anyone get banned here....sorry for not being more clear.

Nobody did, was just using an example of a site that will do that.

Just a few comments in regards to the posts since my last post ---

1)thanks for reading, thinking, and commenting even though I don't 100% agree with everyone.
2)Correct, the world will never be 100% perfect. However, we can sure try to do what we can to improve it. And some of that can be done here. EXAMPLE: Even though there has been an improvement on cutting down on profanity in OPEN FORUMS it is STILL there, and some staff/.... don't see that as a problem. If small bits are allowed there is no doubt it will eventually expand. Look what happens to other things that need repair, if ignored they get worse and to a stage where it can't be fixed. Do we want that to happen here? I don't think so. So let's get it fixed while we can.
3)Why should I, or anyone else, have to seek out a staff/mod/...to find out who deleted our post and why? Shouldn't the staffer/mod/etc be responsible to notify, in a nice way, the member as to why it was done? And shouldn't that be done asap?
4)Disagreeing is going to happen no matter where you're at. We all at times even have disagreements with friends and family. So far as inappropriate wording, insults, etc aren't used what is wrong with sharing opinions? And shouldn't all have the right to do so? Why should staff/mod's/etc remove/delete opinions just because they disagree or don't like them(and they are not rude, ugly, profane, etc.)? This thread is proving it doesn't have to be done, and yet we're not all agreeing, and nothing has been removed/deleted behind my back (like I've had with some posts and was NEVER notified by who did it and why).
5)So far as "doing the best" we can, I still see there is definitely some room for improvement. The things I've mentioned earlier are some that I think definitely need some help. If anyone thinks this site is 100% perfect you need help. Nothing will ever be perfect, but we can try to improve it and make it fair and comfortable for everyone.

Again, even though I don't agree with everything some have posted, I do want to thank you for reading and/or replying. I just ask that you think about this stuff. Also, things that are related to members should NOT be done behind their backs (RE: removing/deleted posts). If a staffer/mod/etc feels the need to do so be man enough to PM and explain to the member, in a nice way, why it was done. Think about these issues I've brought up. Think about it this way staff/mod/etc. if you were a member and not in your post/position would you like/support some of these things I've mentioned? Shouldn't everything be open and above board, or should some continue to do things behind the backs of others?

Thanks everyone for reading and/or posting concerning these issues.

              Have a good night.

rodney, you will not change anything here no matter how much you want to or believe you have the power too. every post of yours just spouts the same rhetoric that points to a disgruntled employee. all you have been doing is pointing fingers at the staff saying we do this and we do that. well that is our job as moderators of the site and if you are not happy with that you are more than welcome to explore other options.

i care very deeply for this site as i am one of the originals that help start it, and we have come along way since the beginning and will continue to grow. i have seen alot of mods come and go and will probably see more in my time here. we do things for a reason and do not have to justify our actions to you at any point since you are no longer a staff member. we may have removed posts in the past, but ask yourself this(were you directly involved? do you need to put your 2 cents in? why?) we work as a team so everybody on staff knows what is going on.

                  Rodney my friend,
you have said "think about these things" & ." If anyone thinks this site is 100% perfect you need help Nothing will ever be perfect, but we can try to improve it and make it fair and comfortable for everyone"

Like you have said many times and everyone on staffs agrees that we are not perfect, not even a pregnancy test is 100% perfect and we will never be 100% perfect.

The staff here at The Cardboard Connection does the best they can and I think the staff is doing a great job and I am sure there will always be room for improvement and I am sure it will get better with every passing day but please remember that we are all human and we all make mistakes and that we are not perfect.

We have tried to address your questions but it seems that you are not happy with the multitude of responses that anyone from staff gives you but we are trying.

Its safe to say that we all want the best for the site and more importantly all our members because without them we are nothing.

                  Thanks
                  Roy

Tim, thanks for your reply even though I don't agree with everything you posted. I also have been a member of this site since a few days after it started. Some of the issues that I've mentioned weren't here then. No one, to my knowledge, had posts removed/deleted without being informed. That has happened several times within the last year or so, and to me within the last week. Nothing in my post was rude, vulgar, insulting, or anything else that would trigger a problem. Yet the one who did so did not inform me at all of what was being done and why. In regard to the mods/staff, as I've said before most are doing a good job but there are some, and some issues to be addressed/improved. Nothing is perfect, and some changes are needed. I'm not 'disgruntled", I just think some of these things I've mentioned aren't right. You and I may disagree but at least we do it directly, and some don't do that. Some do things behind others backs. EXAMPLE: if you're going to delete/remove my post at least, in a nice way, let me know why. Why should it be done and the one who does it hides? I'm not really "pointing fingers", but who else besides staff/mods/etc have the power to do these things? EXAMPLE #2: Staff/mods/etc. are the only ones I know who can remove/delete posts. So why don't they inform, in a nice way, the member they're doing this and why? I like what you said about "give a reason... justify actions...", I agree, give it to the one that is having their post removed/deleted.

So far as "working as a team", don't members of teams try to work on things that aren't going right? To try and correct their problems so they can win ? Do "teams" that have problems, but doing nothing to try and decrease or get rid of them improve/win? So, in my opinion (I am allowed an opinion, right?), shouldn't our staff/mod/etc team be trying to find some ways to stop, decrease, etc some of these issues? Just a thought. Any help, good changes, etc concerning some/all of these issues would be appreciated. Again, all of this is about IMPROVING CCW and making it a more fair site concerning everyone.

So far as being a mod here, I've been one. About a year ago I was removed from serving as a mod because I was told not to remove profanity from posts, that too many members/staff/mods/etc were complaining. Part of my job as a mod, and of all mods, is to keep the site up and suitable. Profanity is not suitable for OPEN FORUMS. Everyone I did that to received a PM from me, I didn't do it behind anyone's back. So because I wouldn't cave in/kiss up to something that I didn't think was right I was removed. Also, I was told I'd get a RETIRED MOD tag, I turned it down because that would have been a lie. I wasn't retiring, I was removed because I refused to do what was inappropriate (some of our members are kids and they definitely don't need to be encouraged to use such language). I have noticed the use of profanity on open forums decreasing, at least that is going in the right direction. However, if it's still okay to do so what's to keep it from turning around and become more common?

So far as me getting this started, it wasn't really me. It was the action of the staffer/mod/etc who removed/deleted my post which had no insults, profanity, threats, etc and NEVER let me know. If a staffer/mod/etc does such a thing they should let the member know what, what was wrong, etc. and do so in an appropriate manner. If things like that were done there wouldn't be as many problems, concerns, or threads like this. Members of your "team" need to discuss, and if possible suggest/start some things that will improve things here at CCW. The only way not to do that is to say CCW is "perfect".

Being a former history/social studies teacher this is appearing to somewhat like a conflict between democracy vs. socialism/communism. I hope, and pray, that that is not true. Let's get these problems corrected.

I thank you for your reply. Even though we don't seem to agree on everything at least we were big enough to express ourselves without rudeness, profanity, letters representing profane words, insults, etc.

                    Have a good night.
