Agree that the fresh start is needed for the Magic especially since Dwight will be leaving as well. I always thought that Van Gundy was a decent coach though, there's something wrong with the world when Vinny Del Negro still has his coaching job and Van Gundy is fired.

Smith and Van Gundy's relationship with Howard was the centerpiece of drama the team faced all season and following their second straight first-round playoff exit, CEO Alex Martins said the shift was warranted.
