  • Kevin Durant V.s LeBron James

LeBron is considered the heavy favorite, but why?

Yeah maybe he wins it but it should atleast be close

    Here is why

The Thunder are on pace to win 51 games. no not a typo, 51 games. This is basically the exact same roster as last season when the Thunder were the laughing stock of the association. The only difference is 3 bench players. Eric Maynor, Serge Ibaka, and James Harden. So with the same starting line up as last season, Durant has been a huge reason the Thunder could win 30 more games than last year. The development of Russell Westbrook and Jeff Green have also been a big key, but it's mainly Durant. Now because of the "Type A" members out there, I will provide something tangible. Stats

PPG: 29.9 V.s 29.7 (LeBron wins) about 13 points seperates these two beasts.

    RPG: 7.6 V.s 7.2 (Durant wins)

APG: LeBron wins by a lot, because Cleveland doesn't really have a true PG with MO hurt.

Durant has a higher 3 point percentage

Durant has a higher Free Throw Percentage

LeBron has .3 more steals a game

They each have exactly 1 block per game

Plus, I think Durant is doing it in a tougher confrence, in a tougher division

    Thoughts?

Durant is doing better because his teammates are, exactally like LeBron, he gets better the better his teammates are, if Green or Westbrook were terrible, teams would double cover Durant, because they cant he does well, same as LeBron...

difference is LeBron is a game changer, i'm a Durant fan but lets face it, LeBron can take a game over whenever he choses to, no one can stop him, and i mean no one. Throw the stats out the window, if i could start a team with Durant or LeBron, i want LeBron

Durant is a damn good player. But he isn't anywhere near LeBron's level. Kobe and LeBron are on a whole different level. Those two guys can single handedly lead a mediocre team to a Championship. No one else in the league can do that, including Durant.

I kinda forgot this part lol, however much I hate LeBron you can't deny his ability to A) make his team better & B) can get the ball to the hoop whenever he wants to.

By the way, Mo only missed about 7 games. So don't discredit Bron's assist total.

To add on this, when Mo was out I believe LeBron averaged like 11 assists or something like that.

My bad J, I thought Mo missed more than that

                  I'll edit it

Durant can take over a game...sorry but at this point in there careers, Kobe is putting up worse stats than Durant. LeBron is putting up fairly equal numbers to Durant

so how is durant "not even close"?

Don't bring in the 32 year old Kobe... he isn't even close in the MVP discussion... Just because you have better numbers than Kobe shouldn't matter

                        Durant and Lebron are young.

But J said Kobe is better than Durant which this season, he obviously isn't

Stats don't tell the whole story...I'll take Bron or Kobe 100 times out of 100 over Durant come playoff time. Durant can't completely take over a game whenever he wants to like Kobe/LeBron...and if we're strictly talking MVP, yes, Durant is ahead of Kobe, but still well behind Bron Bron. He doesn't dominate games whenever he wants to like LeBron.
