Morneau winning/Hamilton putting on a show was 2008, not 2009.
2009 did have a highlight though: Brandon Inge hitting zero HR's in the Derby.
my bad on the date, but yea, didnt realize Morneau had won it till it was mentioned on ESPN the other day.
Brandon Inge, worst home run derby choice in history. Plus he's been garbage (well worse than he was before) since then. Since the home run derby, he's hitting .204 with 20HRs. G-A-R-B-A-G-E
if all the Derby goes as it usually does.... then Bautista will have a sub par to horrible second half...
I hope it doesnt... he is a bright spot in an otherwise "boring" season for me so far....
yea yea yea Jeter 3,000 and a few no-hitters were nice.... but it's been a failry boring season
(unless we are talking about the Tigers of course... I dont want Gladdy to attack me )
I'm still waiting for Bautista to try and show up the wrong pitcher who will make him pay. Dude freaks out when he doesnt hit home runs and hits pop flys instead.
However, i'm still trying to figure out what happened to Abreu, hitting bombs in Commerica Park and now has little power at all
IF Bautista has another 50+ HR season this year.. which he appears to be easily on pace for...
it would put him in pretty nice company of players that have hit 50 in multiple seasons...
and only 4 players have done it more than twice....
A-ROD, SOSA, MCGWIRE, and the BABE
(unfortuantly 3 of them are heavily linked to ROIDS)
here are ALL PLAYERS that have hit 50 in any ONE season (# of HR's and the season they did it in)

i still can't buy in on bautista...saw too many games of him earlier on in 2009
Not looking for anything specific, just whatever catches my eye, but I am partial to Chicago Cubs, David Wright, Jim Palmer, Miguel Cabrera, and Yao Ming
