    Carroll > Jeter

Sigh, I don't know what else to say,

The orginal topic was that he should be an All Star. I said no and came up with two names having better years then Carroll. Rollins and Hanley are having better years. It really isn't that close.

They really aren't having better years than him. In your opinion they are having better years just because they hit HRs and get more RBIs when they have a lot more opportunities. Look at all the stats.

Jeter made the team and Carroll is having a better first half than him as well, but let's just let that go since you obviously don't understand how baseball works and seems like you go with popularity..... (Hanley Ramirez is having his worst season ever yet you think he's more deserving of an All-Star).

I don't care about Jeter. Jeter was not part of the orginal point. Fine he is having a better year. I say he isn't, but whatever.

        Look at the stats

Look at the stats and tell me who is having the better year.

AB Runs RBI HR SB OBP SLG OPS
        341 51 35 8 19 337 384 721
        257 44 32 7 14 326 358 684
        274 36 8 0 5 368 368 736

Just look at the numbers. Clearly the first guy is having the best year. Clearly batter number 2's much better counting stats more then make up for the edge in OPS. Even if you give batter 3 the extra 70 ABs, he isn't make up the difference in any stat. It really it isn't that close. Sorry

I have already proven that the lineups are all pretty close. Phils are better then the other two, but they are all close

And yes Hanley is having his worst year, and it is still better then Carrolls. Take off your Dodger Sunglasses and just look at the stats.

The .368 OBP is the guy I want. He gets on base for others, fans are so fascinated with HRs and RBIs.

It's the little things that ball players do that should get recognized but obviously the average fan don't look at that.

Yes, you want a guy who gets on base .368, who doesn't steal any bases hits for no power, doesn't drive in any runs, when you have the option of two players who are slightly worse then him in OBP, but are much better then him doing everything else. ok

Take off the Kirk Gibson for govener shirt and look at it.

I never said he should, I said he deserved it more then Carroll.

You find me one, besides the one you or someone in LA wrote saying Carroll should be an All Star

The first one was from almost a month ago. Anything saying he was snubbed or should be considered a replacement. Not really saying he should be in there.

The second one is a quote from his boss. If you talk to a GM they are going to tell you all their players deserve to be in there.

And read some of the comments. Even Dodgers fan don't think so.

And I didn't want a stroy from LA because of course they are going to say he belongs there. Every city has written one of those over the last couple of days about their players.
